Image Checks (Visual / Image-Based Analysis)

These checks validate whether the uploaded ID image meets the required authenticity standards. Outcomes include:

• PASSED (OK): The image passes all checks.

• WARNING: Concerns that aren’t grounds for a complete fail but warrant attention, such as ower confidence evidence of an image manipulation of the text.

• REJECTED: Strong signs of potential fraud, e.g., fake/counterfeit ID, digital screen or paper copy, synthetic holder signature, misaligned layout or format, or evidence of physical or digital manipulation of the portrait photo or text.

Some labels may only be returned for specific credential types. An "X" in the column for the credential type indicates that the label may be returned.

REJECTED	GHOST_IMAGE_DIFFERENT	X		There is a mismatch between the ID's main image and ghost image.
REJECTED	PUNCHED	X		The ID has been hole-punched.
REJECTED	SAMPLE	X	X	The ID is a known sample document.
REJECTED	FAKE	X		The ID is fake. Possible reasons include: The ID is a well-known fake. The image is available on the public internet.
REJECTED	CHIP_MISSING	X		The ID has a missing chip.
REJECTED	DIGITAL_MANIPULATION	X		The image of the ID was manipulated before being uploaded.
REJECTED	MISMATCH_FRONT_BACK	X		The country shown on the front of the ID does not match the one shown on the back.
REJECTED	MANIPULATED_DOCUMENT	X	X	The ID shows a physically superimposed photo or text. Note: In most cases one of the more detailed labels shown below will be returned.

REJECTED	MANIPULATED_DOCUMENT_SECURITY_CHECKS	X		A back-office agent reviewed the scan and rejected it based on an issue with the security features. For example: The background microprint or pattern does not match the sample image. A logo or image is missing or not inline with the sample.
REJECTED	MANIPULATED_DOCUMENT_SIGNATURE	X		The signature on the ID shows visible physical or digital manipulations.
REJECTED	MANIPULATED_DOCUMENT_PERSONAL_NUMBER	X		The personal number on the ID shows visible physical or digital manipulations.

REJECTED	MANIPULATED_DOCUMENT_ISSUING_DATE	X		The issue date on the ID shows visible physical or digital manipulations.
WARNING	DIFFERENT_PERSON	X		When the user submits an image that includes both a face and an ID, the face does not match the person on the ID.
WARNING	REPEATED_FACE	X		The same face has been seen in a previous transaction, indicating that the same end user may have opened multiple accounts. The Image Checks capability includes a 1:n face matching feature based on facial biometrics. The face, either from the image extracted from the ID credential or from the Selfie, is compared to the other faces that have been seen in transactions for the tenant. If a match is found, the transaction decision depends on whether or not the personal data is the same in the matching transactions. If the data is the same a WARNING is returned, and the UUIDs of the matching transactions are returned in the data.faceSearchFindings.findings array. If the data is not the same, the transaction will be REJECTED, and a label of MISMATCHING_DATA_REPEATED_FACE will be included in the Data Checks capability.
WARNING	GHOST_IMAGE_QUALITY_INSUFFICIENT	X		The ghost image is too faded for our models to confidently determine if it is available.
REJECTED	LOOKUPS_HIGH_RISK_FACE	X		A face match was confirmed as fraud by Jumio’s internal quality review or based on the transaction status set via the Jumio Portal.
